Privacy Policy (in-app) LocalSky Privacy Policy Contact: support@localsky.app Who we are LocalSky is a mobile app that helps you browse and post local community content on the Bluesky / AT Protocol network. Guest mode vs signed-in mode Guest mode: You can use LocalSky without a Bluesky account to search and browse the local feed. In guest mode you do not have access to features like posting, likes, follows, DMs, notifications, and other account-based actions. Signed-in mode: When you sign in with a Bluesky / AT Protocol account, LocalSky can access additional features such as posting, commenting, messaging, follows/likes, and notifications. What we collect/store (on your device) Guest mode: your selected city/area and app preferences stored locally on your device. Signed-in mode: Bluesky session data needed to run the app (for example access/refresh tokens, handle/DID), stored locally on your device. Manual location context you enter (city/state/ZIP). LocalSky does not collect GPS location. Local app data such as selected cities, preferences, and temporary caches. Notifications (third parties + what data is used) If you enable notifications, LocalSky uses: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) (Google) to deliver push notifications to your device. A LocalSky notifications service (hosted on Cloudflare) to manage notification delivery for your account. To deliver notifications, the app may process: A device push token (from FCM/APNs) used to deliver pushes to your device. Your Bluesky DID (or similar account identifier) so notifications can be routed to the correct user. Notification payload content (for example a title/body and sometimes a short preview), depending on the notification type. You can control notification permissions in your device settings. Content you create through LocalSky (where it is stored) When signed in, posts, replies/comments, messages/DMs, media, and other content you create in the app are uploaded to and stored/served by the Bluesky / AT Protocol network (your PDS / Bluesky). LocalSky is a client app; it does not operate a separate social network for this content. Media capture/pick Photos/videos you capture or select may be temporarily stored on your device while you prepare them for upload, then uploaded to Bluesky / AT Protocol when you post. What we do NOT collect No precise/background GPS location. No advertising ID usage for ads at this time (no ads currently). No third-party analytics or ad tracking SDKs at this time. (Push delivery services are used for notifications.) How we use data To operate the app (browsing, search, login, viewing, posting, messaging, listings, and city tagging based on what you enter). To store your selected cities/preferences on your device. To deliver notifications when enabled (via FCM + our notifications service). To respond to support and safety reports you send us. Reporting When you report content in LocalSky, the app submits the report to Bluesky / AT Protocol moderation services when available. Sharing / third parties Bluesky / AT Protocol (your PDS / Bluesky) handles login, identity, and storage/serving of network content. Push notifications are delivered using Firebase Cloud Messaging and LocalSky’s notifications service infrastructure. Our website host may collect standard web server logs when you visit localsky.app. Deletion, retention, and your choices Signing out clears your session on this device, but does not delete your Bluesky content (which remains on Bluesky/your PDS until you delete it there). Deleting content inside LocalSky sends deletion requests to Bluesky / your PDS when supported. Local device retention: tokens/preferences remain on your device until you sign out, clear app data, or uninstall. Guest mode: uninstalling or clearing app data removes guest-mode preferences stored locally on your device. Security We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no method is 100% secure. Children Not directed to children. Users must meet the minimum age required in their region (commonly 13+). No sexually explicit content. Changes We may update this policy; material changes will be posted in-app and/or on our website.
